Nine services. Each can be a job on its own, or a stage of a build we run end to end — Chepst was formed out of four separate companies, which is why the trades most contractors subcontract are on this list. Every section ends with a way to ask about that specific thing.
Building construction
We take on the whole build rather than a single trade, so there is one company accountable for the programme, the workmanship and the snag list. New houses, commercial premises and industrial structures, with the same site team and the same reporting on each.

Renovations & remodeling
Older houses are usually sound and badly laid out. Renovation work opens up what does not work, replaces what has failed, and brings the finishes up to date — without the cost or the council process of building from scratch.

Extensions & additions
Adding to a house is the cheapest square metre you will ever build, because the services and the access are already there. We tie the new work into the existing structure and finishes so it reads as one building rather than a bolt-on.

Carports & driveways
The approach to a house is the first thing anyone sees and the last thing most builds get round to. Carports, paving and driveways done properly means falls that drain, a base that does not sink, and a structure that holds in a storm.

Plumbing installations
Plumbing is where a cheap build shows up first, usually about a year in. We take it on inside a full build or as its own job — new installations, replacements, and the leaks and blockages that need someone the same week.

Electrical installations
One of the companies Chepst was formed from was an electrical company, so this is not a subcontracted afterthought. New installations, rewires, and the extra circuits a house picks up over the years as it gains a borehole pump, a geyser or a backup supply.

Tiling & flooring
Most bad tiling is really bad screeding. We prepare the base first, then set out from the middle of the room so the cuts land where nobody looks, rather than starting at a wall and finishing with a sliver at the door.

Painting & finishing
The finishes are what a house gets judged on. Preparation is most of the job and the part that gets cut when a price is too low: filling, sanding and priming before anything gets a topcoat.

Handyman services
Not everything is a project. Doors that will not close, a section of fence, a leaking gutter, fittings that need hanging properly — the jobs that sit on a list for months because nobody will come out for one of them. We will do several in a visit.
